Clients come to me once a week for a 50 minute session at a regular time, for an indefinite period of time. This way of working allows for a client to really establish a relationship with me and the gives the opportunity to explore many areas of difficulty. It is also useful if a client requires a supportive relationship through various difficulties as and when they arise.
Whilst long-term therapy can be extremely supportive I appreciate that involves a level of commitment that is not easy. Short-term therapy usually involves more of a structure and lasts around 12 weeks. The early sessions are spent getting to know each other and then having established a focus we will move towards deeper work at around session 3. We can discuss timescales that suit you in an initial telephone conversation prior to meeting and this can be re-evaluated at any point if you feel your needs have changed.
Each session costs £75 and is payable in cash or by card at the beginning of the session.
Couple’s sessions are charged at £85
Weekend and evening slots are available for £80 (£90 for couple’s counselling)
Skype sessions are available
All sessions are confidential. You of course may choose to discuss the content for your sessions, they are yours. I will not disclose details of anything shared with me unless I believe you to be a danger to yourself or to others. Even then I will discuss my intentions with you. It is extremely important that you know that you can talk freely without fear of consequences.
I will on occasion discuss you with my supervisor. This is a requirement of the BACP for all practicing therapists. It is to ensure a high standard and safety in the work. Â I will maintain your anonymity in doing so.
